Case file ENG—001College years

The Gold Medal Project

Problem: A final-year project that had to be more than a demo — something real enough to survive contact with actual users and examiners alike.
Approach: Scoped it like a product, not an assignment: real users, real constraints, working software over slideware. Built, tested, presented.
Outcome: Awarded the gold medal. More importantly: the first proof that careful observation of a problem beats enthusiasm about a technology.

Case file ENG—0022021 — Present

Problem: Major US jewelry platforms sell products that aren't really products — they're configurations. Metals, stones, carats, sizes, engravings: thousands of permutations that make catalogues heavy, search fuzzy and pages slow.
Approach: Treated the configuration space as the core domain. Worked across catalogue, product detail and checkout flows where correctness and speed both matter — a wrong price or a slow render costs real revenue.
Outcome: Shipped features used by real shoppers on high-traffic storefronts. Earned the Bright Beginner award in the process.

Case file ENG—0032022 — Present

Problem: On a large e-commerce platform, the riskiest work — payments, promotions, order flows — goes to engineers the team trusts not to break things quietly.
Approach: Built a reputation through small reliabilities: honest estimates, tested edge cases, readable code, and flagging problems before they became incidents.
Outcome: Recognized with the Rising Star award. The observation habit, applied to systems and to teams.
